Summer Tutoring
Did you know that many children can lose up to 1/3 of their grade-level abilities over the summer? We provide a variety of opportunities to keep your child sharp and ready to hit the ground running in the fall.
How to Register – To register, view our class times and register online. We will call you to secure your registration spot. A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to hold your spot and applies towards a materials fee. You will receive an email confirmation after registering.

Elementary Private & Semi-Private Tutoring K-5
1 hr class M-Th, June 5th – August 10th
(No class on July 4th and no class on the week of July 17th at Central Naperville: Grace United)
Private: 1 student – $50/hr
Semi-private: 2 students – $37.50/hr
An individualized program which can include any subject or combination of subjects. Input from parent and teacher helps determine goals for each student. A lesson plan sheet gives parents daily communication including daily homework assignments and material covered in class. Students are matched by skill level when possible, but not necessarily by grade level. Study skills are emphasized.
A great way to maintain and improve skills over the summer in any subject!
Phonics is Phun (Gr. 2-4) – $360
July 24th – Aug 3rd (M-Th) 10:00-11:30am
Two week workshop for Grades 2-4. Stop the guessing habit by improving phonemic awareness, decoding, and spelling through direct instruction, games and activities. Improve word attack skills for reading, writing and spelling. Parents visit for part of a session to learn techniques to use at home. 1½ hour class, maximum 5 students.
Standardized Testing & CogAT Skills (Gr. 3-5) – $150
July 24th – 28th: 10:00-11:00am
One week workshop for incoming Grades 3-5. Focus on improving organizational skills, learn how to study a chapter, improve note-taking skills and outlining, learn strategies for test taking and lots of homework tips. A great way to prepare for CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Testing), Standardized Test Taking and a positive start in the fall! 1 hr class, maximum 10 students.

Classes meet by grade level for a crash review of last year’s skills and a preview of this year’s skills with a focus on Common Core Objectives. Great way to build confidence for a successful school start! Practice reading & writing for 1 hour and/or math for 1 hour. Maximum 5 students.

Strategic Study Skills Camp (Gr. 6-12) – $250
Gr. 6-8: M/W 8am – 10am, Jul 31st – Aug 2, 7, 9
Gr. 9-12: M/W 10am – noon, Jul 31st – Aug 2, 7, 9
Strategic Study Skills Camp offered mornings at Central Naperville Grace for one week. Maximize potential for organization, note taking, outlining, test taking, listening skills and success! Minimum 5 students.
ACT Group Prep – $600
Pretest: June 6th 9am-noon
Course: Tu/Th 9-11am, June 8 – July 11th
Two full practice tests, with a focus on test taking strategies. Improve test taking skills in reading, math, English, vocabulary and writing. Small group with individual coaching in skill areas. Private instruction is also offered throughout summer. One hour sessions.
H.S. Entrance Exam Prep – $500
Pretest: June 8th 9-11:45am
Course: Tu/Th June 13 – July 11th 10am-noon
Prepare for the private high school entrance exam in December. Practice tests, skill coaching and test taking strategies. Once a week for 4 weeks, 3 hour class.
