What is Dyslexia? Learning difficulty characterized by trouble decoding (sounding out) words. Difficult word recognition and spelling. Significant difficulty with fluency, comprehension, rapid naming, vocabulary, and written language. High risk, for falling behind peers in academics. The most common reason smart kids struggle to read. Dyslexia is not: A vision problem A problem with seeing words or letters backwards
