Confront your child with their greatness!

Often times, we confront our children or our students when the child is misbehaving. When a child is being disrespectful, that’s when we give them our most passionate speech on why it’s important to respect people. The problem is that a child isn’t receptive to our message during times of punishment, so we suggest flipping how we instill values in our children.

When we see our kids demonstrate values of kindness or respectfulness, this is when we should light up and tell them the importance of having those values. This isn’t just presenting values to our children during a time when they’re more receptive, but this also gives our children the confidence and assurance to know that they already have those values. These values become their moral compass, and it guides their behavior and their interactions with others whether or not you’re around.
